5” Frozen Pie Baking Instructions

Items you will need:

- oven

- frozen pie

- towel

- lined sheet tray (with parchment paper)

- fork (or whisk)

- spoon

— pastry brush

- bowl

- 1 egg

- 1-2 tbsp water

- granulated sugar

- tinfoil

- resting rack

Instructions:

1.Preheat oven to 425°F (218°C).

2.Make an egg wash with 1 egg and 1-2 tbsp of water whisked in a small bowl. Lightly brush the top crust of the frozen pie with the egg wash.

3.Sprinkle granulated sugar on the top of the pie, fully covering it.

4.Place the pie on a baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes on the bottom rack of the oven.

5.Reduce the temperature of the oven to 375°F (190°C) and continue cooking for another 25-30 minutes.

6.Check the pie, when the outer crust is golden place tinfoil on the edges (not the whole pie) to prevent it from over colouring. Place it back in the oven for another 10-15 minutes.

7.Remove the pie from the oven once the filling is bubbling in the centre and the crust is golden brown.

8.Allow the pie to cool and set for minimum of 2 hrs before enjoying!

*Cooking time may vary based on your oven and how many pies you are cooking at once. If you are cooking more than 1 pie, you will have to add an extra couple of minutes to each timer.*

*Do not thaw, keep the pie frozen.*
